I find it funny (or maybe frustrating) that often the best advice is simply the obvious, but that somehow for some reason we just don’t see it until we trip over it and we realise that, oh yeah, it was there all along.
I'm in the process of recreating a creative system too. Being able to work with a canvass has come back to me more naturally than writing has. Ultimately yeah- blocking out in-schedule time to do the creative thing has made it happen. Sometimes I find myself on a roll and working over the time I set aside. Other times not so much. Sometimes keeping it simple really does work. I wish more things in life were straightforward and simple like that.
