I have followed you since the days you had a blog in Alaska, the girls were small and you were about to publish your first book. I think the way you reinvent yourself every so often is great. I am not a podcast person, so there was a brief blank there but I check on you via Amazon and I bought How Story Works. It’s wonderful. You are wonderful!
I have about 15 dozen half-formed thoughts and responses, none of which I can fully nail down at the moment. So I'm going to borrow from my younger friends and just say "Fuckin' mood, Lani."
I heard someone say, "No matter how bad you feel, there's a strong person inside you who has shown up every day of your life, even when your life was scary. It showed up and ate food, slept, and kept you going." That made sense to me. I'm doing limbic retraining to be able to get away from the fear and it's working. Sending healing and peaceful vibes.
I love you. I love your work. I love feeling a part of your communities even if they change and migrate. My world is so much better because you are in it.
I've been following you since Will Write for Wine, and I want to thank you for the bravery you've showed. Around the time you were launching that last podcast network, you did a podcast about self-empowerment and I cannot tell you how much weight was lifted off my shoulders when I read Brené Brown. I wrote down her manifesto and took it with me on important exams in grad schools, read it during student teaching, and when I lost my grandmother just weeks before I finished my certification, something she'd financial contributed to.
You are joy personified, and I'm so grateful I clicked on a random podcast nearly 20 years ago.
You are you, lovely, talented gifted. I love your books. I enjoy your podcasts. I think you are brave. When you feel up to it, you will do what you need or want. We are all for it. Hang in. We got you, you got this.
I've followed you for a while now and you have always inspired me to write and create and be a fan of things, loudly. You're doing a great job and are a great person -- never doubt that!
Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate all the kind messages. I'm okay. I just needed to process out loud a bit. Big love.
