Reframing my year-long creative block/rut as a period of rest and rejuvenation was the best thing I did for my writing. It let ideas simmer and allowed me to explore different forms of creative writing instead of forcing myself to sit down and write genres/styles that felt forced. Rest is so essential to growth!

Agree - the leaving things alone is the hardest work of all. A wise mentor once said to me, "it's like you've planted a seed and now you're poking the soil trying to get it to hurry up and grow."
How ridiculous is that? We need to stop poking the soil (just so we can say we are doing something) and let the seed grow! (This goes for life as well as creative projects)
