Your post inspired me. Writing is not a job. True. Keeping this in mind I have started writing again for 30 min daily. I worked as a content writer for marketing firms but that never really satisfied my soul. Today I have a job that doesn't involve writing. I want to back to writing, and want to write about things that matters to me.

Aha - that explains everything! Thank you.

When I was working full time writing was a delicious escape, snatched in stolen moments. Now I have time I seem to be far less productive. I need to relearn the dance!

Yeah, sometimes that's hard to do. But the dance is waiting for you, when you're ready!

Permission to share with my writer friends? This is beautiful and something we all need to hear

How did you know this was what I needed to hear this morning, my friend? Thank you.

I know you said this was for fiction writers but as a blogger/non-fiction writer it still really hits home. And is a strong reminder that I need to spend time in my writing space

I love this mindset. I've always heard authors and writers say "If you want writing to be your job you have to treat it like one." And I'm amazing at my full-time job, but it's been SO hard for me to finish a book. I've beat myself up over this for years but this gave me the validation I needed to realize why that's been such a hard mindset for me. Writing isn't a JOB – TBH if it was, I'd quit haha
